Engineers from across the UK have been given a helping hand in finding solutions to even their most complex manufacturing challenges.

ZOLLER UK is in the middle of a two-day open house event at its Advanced Innovation Centre in Foston, near Derby, attracting major players from sectors including automotive and aerospace.

Specialising in micron-precision tool presetting and inspection, helping to ensure tools are of the right quality to create accurate and quality parts prior to machining, ZOLLER UK also provides total tool management solutionsand is dedicated to saving both time and money for businesses of all sizes.

In addition to demonstrations on its pomBasic, genius 3, venturion 450, pomSkpGo and smileCompact machines, visitors were given access to products from partners Openmind, Kyocera Unimerco and CG Tech, covering computer-aided design and manufacturing solutions as well as cutting tool servicing, maintenance and verification.

Smart Cabinets – a range of manual or automated cabinets with advanced inventory software and the latest addition to the ZOLLER product portfolio – were on display for the first time in the UK, with the special offer of a free ZOLLER UK tool trolley with every machine purchase order before December 31, 2017.

Patrick Jordan, a Manufacturing Engineer from Rolls-Royce’s Birmingham-based business control systems, said:

“We’ve got a piece of ZOLLER UK presetting equipment but we didn’t know how to use it to its full capability, so the staff at the open house were able to show us how to do that.

“It was also good that Kyocera were on site, as we use them quite a lot.”

Phil Bell, one of four staff at the open house representing the University of Sheffield-based Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), said: “The open house was ideal, with everything on display at once, and the ZOLLER UK staff are excellent.”

The ZOLLER UK open house is taking place between 9.30am and 4pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 14 and 15.
